Ever feel like you’re giving everything… and still falling short?

You lie awake at night knowing you’re giving so much… and still feeling like it’s not enough. The to-do list is endless, the people you love need more than you feel you have to give, and somewhere along the way, you got pushed to the edge of your own life. You crave clarity, energy, and peace—but all you feel is tired.

I’ve been there. As a dad of seven, former family doc, and home-based entrepreneur for years growing alongside my wife Rachelle through one new season after another, I’ve often felt the pressure build. The roles, the pace, the people, the myriad decisions both small and large — all feel important. But none of it is sustainable without a reset and ongoing renewal.

Here are three simple shifts that help me start showing up again with peace and presence when I get off track or feel overwhelmed:

1) Pause to listen, not hustle. Some of the most life-giving changes begin when you stop rushing to keep up. Here’s where a simple pause to breathe can make a big difference. I often like to do this with my hand over my heart with a simple prayer or moment of gratitude especially when I find myself rushing from task to task, or impatiently waiting for my computer or a task to complete.

2) Let love—not guilt—lead. What if your worth isn’t tied to how much you do, but how fully you show up? Reflect on this a moment.

3) Clarity often follows connection. One honest conversation—with your spouse, a friend, or God—can lift more weight than a dozen tasks checked off. Reconnecting with Rachelle during the day and beginning and ending my day with my own prayer/meditation and reflection time has been a powerful way for me to reconnect to what matters most and reset my course.

As we approach the weekend and the end of the first half of 2025, what part of you has been asking to slow down… and be heard? What’s one step you can take today to reconnect and renew?
