Slow down…to go fast. Sounds paradoxical, doesn’t it! But how many of us find ourselves doing a lot of “busy work” – kind of like a fly buzzing around on social media with lots of tasks and lots to “get done” each day, and yet not feeling like we’re really progressing or changing much?
Or even if we get some things done, we find ourselves spinning plates and not sure how long we can sustain the way we’re doing things.
These are some of the thoughts that stirred in me the other morning in the garden as I took a moment to savor the breakfast casserole Rachelle made for me – before picking up a book to read. (She was dropping our son at morning music camp)
What if we actually slowed down? Got clear, purposeful, and intentional, and actually focused on the one, two, or three things that moved something forward in what matters most to us in the next segment of our day?
Kind of like an ocean wave – we don’t necessarily think of waves as “fast”, but when they build, they become powerful and nothing can stop their momentum.
As you take a moment at this mid-point in the year, what’s something intentional you could practice daily to slow down, get clear, and build your own wave of momentum that even with small daily steps to begin with, could become unstoppable over time?
Slow down…to go fast.
